Virgin’s Caribbean centre set to nurture business talent
The Richard Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship, which will be run by non-profit making Virgin Unite, will be set up next year to help 18-35 year olds who want to grow and sustain new businesses in the region.
The men and women will be able to gain access to coaching through the centre along with financing opportunities and business skill-building. Initially tourism-related businesses will be prioritised.
Virgin Holidays says it has committed £2m over the next 10 years to the project..
Managing director of Virgin Holidays Amanda Wills said: "We believe every business has the potential to be a force for good and with this centre we are once more leading the travel industry in showing how it can contribute to the communities and countries it operates in."
"This centre is evidence of our committment to the long-term economic sustainability of one of our most important markets. We will support the Caribbean’s primary industry and contribute to the maintenance of its cultural identity by encouraging the creation and growth of indigenous businesses."
