Visit Malaysia Year targets Australia

Visit Malaysia Year 2014 has been launched to the travel industry in Australia by the newly appointed tourism and culture minister for Malaysia, ԬDatuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.

The minister is hosting a series of travel industry events in Melbourne and Perth. Ԭլ

Visit Malaysia Year 2014, a global campaign, is targeting 28 million tourists to the country next year. Some 620,000 Australians are expected, a near 25% increase from 2012 visitor arrival figures. Ԭլ

The minister said that year to date visitor arrivals from Australia to Malaysia are up 6% compared to the same period in 2012.’¨’¨

"I feel there is great potential to increase this further and having only recently become tourism & culture minister, I wanted to visit our key markets to identify ways that we can attract more visitors to Malaysia," he said.
