Visit Orlando gives thanks for recording breaking tourism
Orlando welcomed a record 68 million travelers last year, making it the nation’s most visited destination.
The numbers were announced at Visit Orlando’s annual Travel & Tourism Luncheon.
"Orlando’s visitation number represents the emotional connections we make with millions all over the world," said George Aguel, president and CEO of Visit Orlando.
"The love they show us never ceases to inspire us and led us to launch a yearlong campaign about two important words: thank you."
It is being marked by special handwritten thank you notes collected from Orlando area tourism businesses and hotels which will be mailed to visitors which have interacted with Visit Orlando’s website, social media channels or other campaigns.
"Orlando and Orange County continue to be the number one vacation destination in the nation," said Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs.
"But this wouldn’t be possible without the many millions of guests who choose to come here year after year for our world-renowned attractions and entertainment options."
