VisitBritain launches new networking event

Tuesday, 05 Aug, 2011 0

VisitBritain has launched a new networking event for domestic tourism suppliers to meet international buyers from 20-plus countries next year.

The Hosted Buyers Marketplace will be held at Wembley Stadium on March 19, the day before the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) and UKInbound's established Britain & Ireland Marketplace, also held at Wembley.

The three organisations are working together on the back-to-back events, which offer pre-scheduled and open appointments in addition to other networking events.

ETOA executive director Tom Jenkins said the event would attract 150 international buyers.

VisitBritain chief executive Sandie Dawe added: "The Hosted Buyers Marketplace is well positioned to build on the opportunity to showcase Britain during 2012 as a result of the Queen’s Diamond Jubliee and hosting the 2012 Games, and to ensure British product features heavily in international programmes.

"This work will be supported by our ambitious “You’re Invited” marketing programme over the next four years."
