VisitScotland has formed a partnership with P&O Ferries in order to attract autumn Irish visitors across the water.
The tourist body’s Capture Your Autumn Moments in Scotland campaign highlights the variety of activities, breaks and experiences to be had in Scotland.
The partnership with P&O Ferries, which operates fast and frequent crossings between Ireland and Scotland, will see joint sales promotions and online activity on sites like UTV, Belfast Telegraph and Hotmail.
VisitScotland’s chief executive Malcolm Roughead said: “Tourism is Scotland’s most important industry and partnerships like this are crucial to our success.
"This is the first time we have worked with P&O Ferries in this way and we hope that we will welcome many more visitors from Ireland as a result. There is so much to see and do in Scotland in Autumn and there has never been a better time to visit.”
Marketing manager for P&O Ferries Tracy Robb said: “Recent research undertaken by the Office of National Statistics shows that in today’s economic climate more and more people are abandoning the traditional foreign holiday in favour of holidaying within the UK.
“By travelling with P&O Ferries and bringing the car holiday makers have increased flexibility to tailor their holiday to their particular needs and make the most of their break whether they are going for a week, the weekend or even a day trip.”
