Viva Macau takes time out in Sydney
MACAU – Viva Macau Airlines will be temporarily suspending flights to Sydney from March 28 but will add a weekly flight between Melbourne and Macau from the same date.
Dr Reg Macdonald, Viva Macau CEO, said flights between Melbourne and Macau had been full and “it made commercial sense to put additional flights where there is good demand and supportâ€.
McDonald said it was disappointing to suspend flights to Sydney until December but Viva Macau would “actively monitor the route for recommencement of year-round servicesâ€.
From March, Viva Macau will operate three flights per week between Melbourne and Macau. Flights will depart Melbourne at 9.15am and land in Macau at 5.00pm. Return flights will depart Macau at 8.15pm and arrive in Melbourne at 8.00am the next day.
Viva Macau is offering special fares from $389 for a one-way economy class ticket Melbourne-Macau and $799 for a one-way business class ticket.
