Volendam passengers to mark Anzac Day
SYDNEY – Australian and New Zealand guests currently sailing on board Holland America Line’s ms Volendam will mark ANZAC Day 2010 whilst cruising the South Pacific.
After departing Sydney for a 26-day journey to Vancouver, the Volendam will sail into Fijian waters on April 25, Anzac Day.
Guests will have the option to attend on-board dawn service conducted by Australian minister, Reverend Bev Ham.
Included in the service will be the laying of a floral wreath and flags at half-mast.
New Zealand entertainer, Peter Paki, will sing the Australian and New Zealand national anthems.
Coffee, tea & Anzac biscuits will be on offer and a Cook-Up Australian Breakfast will be served on the aft deck.
The Volendam will spend two days in the Fiji islands before crossing the International Date Line on April 26, heading to Samoa, followed by some at sea cruising with four Hawaiian stopovers before reaching Vancouver on May 12, to start her Alaskan cruise season.
