Warning of disruption to rail, road and ferry services
Travellers have been told to expect disruption to rail, road and ferry services between Denmark, Austria and Germany.
Following the reinstatement of immigration controls by the German government at its borders with Austria, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office warned travellers to allow extra time for their journey.
It said transport in Germany, Austria and other areas across Europe could be affected as significant numbers of refugees transit through Austria.
Germany introduced the temporary controls on its border with Austria to cope with the influx of migrants, the interior minister has said.
Hungary has blocked the main crossing point from Serbia used by refugees as Austria, Slovakia and the Netherlands all followed Germany’s lead to impose border controls this afternoon, reports the Daily Mail.
