Wendy Wu Tours customer data reportedly hacked
Wendy Wu Tours in Sydney has been reportedly hit by a data breach.
Hacker group KillSec claimed last week to have compromised systems and has demanded a ransom.
Wendy Wu Tours has not confirmed KillSec’s claim however website Information Age reported a small sample of Australian and UK passport numbers were posted on the group’s dark web site.
The company is investigating, said Simon Bell, managing director at Wendy Wu Tours Australia.
“We are reviewing the claim. We take such matters seriously and will provide updates as appropriate.”
“Company can pay for data deletion, and non-company related individuals may contact us to reach an agreement for data purchase,” KillSec wrote in its demand.
It is unclear whether the alleged stolen data extends beyond passport information and any other Wendy Wu offices.
