Westin checking in to Myanmar
Marriott International is bringing luxury wellness focused brand Westin to Myanmar.
Marriott inked an agreement with Myanmar developer, Yoma Land for the new-build Westin Yangon which is slated to open in late 2021.
The 26-floor hotel will be housed within the Yoma Central integrated real estate development.
The hotel will feature 281 rooms and suites, as well as 90 premium serviced apartments.
Yoma Central will also have luxury private homes and retail, and is anchored by the restored former HQ of the Burma Railway Company, which is one of the city’s oldest colonial era buildings.
Marriott’s Asia Pacific chief development officer Paul Foskey called it a landmark signing.
The Westin brand footprint spans more than 220 hotels in nearly 40 countries and territories.
