The man who carried out Wednesday’s attacks in Westminster stayed at a Brighton hotel the night before he drove to London.

The Sun claims Khalid Masood told staff at the budget Preston Park Hotel ‘London isn’t what it used to be’ before he left the hotel and drove to London in his rented car.

Police found a receipt in the Hyundai Masood used to mow down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge, killing three people including an American tourist.

Masood then fatally stabbed an unarmed policeman outside the Houses of Parliament before he was shot dead by police.

Forensic officers have now searched the room he stayed in.

He reportedly stayed on Tuesday night and also on Friday March 17.

Sabeur Toumi, manager of the hotel, told Sky News he was a ‘friendly, normal’ guest, who had talked about his family and had told staff he was visiting friends in Brighton.
