What airline do you hate the most?

You might have named Heathrow, where lines are legendary anytime or LAX in Los Angeles, where the weak spots include “panhandlers, long lines, overcrowded terminals, the difficulty of getting from one terminal to another, and the general grime.”

Actually, those were the two top offenders when more than 2,000 participants in 80 countries took the “World’s Worst Travel Survey.”

Comments on the various airports cite “Nuanced annoyances…they seem particularly adept at making international passengers wait as long as possible to clear custom…an unpleasant ground staff…it might seem as if you’re trapped in some sort of third-world exodus (all carrying plastic wrapped luggage) with everyone trying to get a spot on what seems to be the last flight out.”

In third place in the survey was Charles DeGaulle in Paris, which had the dubious distinction of being rated “one of the worst” for several years by the International Air Transport Association.

It was closely followed by JFK in New York, O’Hare, Kingsford Smith in Sydney, Miami International, Frankfurt and Hartsfeld-Jackson in Atlanta.

The latter is the world’s busiest airport both in passengers and flights.

It’s possible motto, suggested by huffingtonpost.com: “Every day is worse than usual.”
