What’s happened to travel wages?
Travel salaries reached a 12-month high in April, reaching an average of £26,153.
The jump of 4.7% was the highest since last November, according to C&M Travel Recruitment.
Wages rose across the country, with London and the southeast seeing their highest monthly totals since last April, while salaries in the north reached their highest point so far this year.
Director Barbara Kolosinska said it was a particularly good month for those seeking travel jobs in the capital, where the average salary rose to £28,040. In the north, the average increased to £22,104.
The number of new vacancies and job seekers both fell compared with March, but they were up year on year.
