What’s in store for 2005?
A distinguished line up of industry speakers will get the New Year off to an interesting start by debating what the future holds for travel agents and operators.
Organisers of the industry debate ambitiously hope to cover tiered commission levels, dynamic packaging, bookings fees and agency ownership in the two-hour event, although the issue of bonding is likely to arise as one of the panel members is ex ABTA president John Harding. His company Travelscene folded this year and it emerged that some holidaymakers that had booked accommodation-only products through the company’s subsidiaries were not protected when the company went bust.
Other speakers are Hoseasons chief executive Richard Carrick, Cadogan Holidays managing director Gary David and Tickets Anywhere managing director Bryony Horden.
The debate, entitled “Do or Die” is being held in London’s Kingsway Hall Hotel on January 19 at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £31 before January 14 and £35 after, but members of CMITIG, HMA, ITT, PATA, Tourism Society, Advantage, AITO, AWTE, TTI and Worldchoice can get tickets for £19.
