What’s the future for high street travel agents? NCL’s Francis Riley joins the debate
Norwegian Cruise Line’s UK general manager Francis Riley has been confirmed as the latest speaker for next week’s TravelMole Travel Industry Question Time.
He will join Advantage Travel Centres managing director John McEwan and Hotels4u.com sales and marketing director John Harding on November 16 to debate the future of high street travel agents.
NCL relies on distribution through the travel trade along with the majority of cruise lines and therefore has a vested interest in the future of agents.
Other top speakers are to be confirmed shortly.
The Question Time follows the Court of Appeal decision which means that agents and operators will not be required to obtain ATOLS.
But with operators led by TUI poised to hugely increase their dynamic packaging capabilities following the ruling, agents will face even more competition.
And with more customers booking online, how should high street agents respond? Just who is leading the fight in the retail revolution?
The discussion, to be moderated by travel industry journalist and commentator Jeremy Skidmore, will feature a range of top speakers.
Question Time will be held on November 16 between 16.30-18.30 at the London Hilton Canary Wharf.
