WHO urges return of masks on flights
The World Health Organisation is calling for the return of masks on flights.
Countries should recommend travellers wear facemasks on long haul flights.
It warns of the threat of the ‘Kraken’ XBB.1.5 sub-variant.
Passengers should wear masks on flights the WHO’ Europe official, Catherine Smallwood said.
XBB.1.5 now accounts for nearly one-third of Covid-19 cases in the US .
“Countries need to look at the evidence base for pre-departure testing,” Smallwood said.
