With the snow come the bookings
Specialist operator and agent Ski Solutions is reporting a 20% year-on-year spike in enquiries this week following a heavy dump of early snow in the Alps.
The demand has been further driven by good early snowfall in North American resorts, with remaining Christmas and New Year dates now selling quickly, it said.
Managing director Craig Burton said: "After a slow start to the last two seasons, it looks as though Mother Nature is going to be kind to us this year.
"We’re seeing exceptional conditions for November, with heavy falls in recent days to the valley floor, and deep snow packs building above 1800 metres.
"The message from many of our high-altitude resorts, such as Verbier and Val Thorens, is that they are planning to open earlier than usual to cater for the demand.
"With Christmas and New Year holidays now selling fast, we urge skiers to hit the slopes sooner rather than later to enjoy some crowd-free pre-Christmas skiing."
