Wizz Air to add new route from Liverpool
The budget airline will launch flights from Merseyside to the southern Romanian city of Craiova from the end of March 2017.
It will be Wizz Air’s seventh destination from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, from where it already flies to Warsaw, Gdansk, Katowice, Riga, Budapest and Lublin.
The three times weekly service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting on March 27.
It will be the only service outside of London to Craiova, taking the number of weekly departures by Wizz Air from Liverpool up to 20 from next summer.
The airline describes little-known Craiova as ‘an ideal short break destination with a strong focus on culture, filled with art, history and museums’.
Last month, Wizz Air increased its overall passenger numbers by 18% compared with October 2015, having added 15% more seats, year on year.
