Women-only marathon tours take off
Prague and the Great Wall of China marathons will be the focus of a partnership between marathon and leisure travel specialist RunFun Travel and Running Divas, when they offer Australia’s first hosted "women’s only tours" to these events in 2014.
Prague’s city streets marathon will be held for the 20th time in 2014.
China’s Great Wall marathon attracts 2,500 participants from more than 50 countries.
RunFun Travel launched in 2012 with the aim of bringing new events, and new challenges to marathon runners and their families.
Fran Seton, owner of RunFun Travel, said: "Partnering with Running Divas to introduce women’s only tours is simply the next step towards achieving this aim.
Running Divas is a women’s running network dedicated to supporting, guiding, motivating and assisting women of all ages and running abilities to achieve their running goals.
Erica King, the founder of Running Divas, said although running is the key ingredient to bringing together groups of like-minded women, "it is certainly not the sole focus of the running tours".
"These women will experience the culture of the country and city, visit some of the leading attractions, dine at some of the best restaurants, relax with spa treatments, and enjoy exciting extension tours to wind down after participating in the marathons."
