Worldspan keeps quiet on BA deal
Worldspan has announced some details of the deal it has signed with British Airways, but is reluctant to give any further information. According to a spokesperson for the GDS, the agreement will mean that agents can avoid the £3 fare surcharge. Worldspan provided this statement to TravelMole but declined to comment further, saying more information would be available in the coming weeks: “Worldspan has reached an agreement with BA where Worldspan travel agencies can participate in a programme in which the agency can avoid the £3 fare surcharge. Arrangements have also been made with BA such that Worldspan agents will not have the BA surcharge levied whilst we are finalising the roll-out plan. Further details of the programme with regard to agencies will be released shortly.” The three-year contract, similar to those signed by Galileo, Sabre, and Amadeus, took effect from Monday.
