Rail travel across the world is to be bookable online via TheTrainline website.

It follows a new partnership between TheTrainline and International Rail to develop a dedicated site, www.internationaltrainline.com.

The new site offers comprehensive timetables, instant booking and payment taken in real time. Users will be able to book European rail including InterRail passes, Euro Domino and individual European country passes. Globally, rail travel in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand and Japan can be booked online.

TheTrainline’s sales and distribution director Adrian Watts said: “We are very pleased to now be working with International Rail in offering our customers increased product around the world. This exciting opportunity opens up worldwide rail travel to all of our customers, and with the ease of booking associated with thetrainline.com we are confident it will be an unparalleled success”.

International Rail managing director Rod Maton said: “The new website is truly unique in the product offering and ease of booking for all world wide rail travel.

“Users will not only be able to work out timetables on line, but also pay and receive their tickets prior to travel. This opens up booking rail travel around the world as never before within the UK”.
