WTE focuses on responsible tourism and unesco
Winners announced of Responsible Tourism Italy prize
The WTE (World Heritage Tourism Exhibition) conference on sustainability and cultural heritage was held this year in Padua from 19th – 21st September and is supported by UNESCO.
The Responsible Tourism Italy prize was initiated by the Italian Travel Trade magazine L’Agencia di Viaggi.
Said Cristina Ambrosini, publisher of L’Agencia di Viaggi, "This prize recognizes and support people and businesses that, in Italy and in the world, contribute to the creation of a range of responsible tourism products organized and booked in travel agencies, and online. We have received many entries in four categories: Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, Hospitality Providers and public and private tourism organizations.
Speakers at the Responsible Tourism event included Carlo Francini from UNESCO, Luigi Cabrini from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, GIANNI BONAZZI from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, MAURIZIO DAVOLIO from Associazione Italiana Turismo Responsabile (the Italian Responsible Tourism network) and CRISTINA AMBROSIANI from L’Agencia di Viaggi.
Prizewinners were:
- ValentinaPiscitelli,Gartour, award for the tour package- Un Sogno chiamatoDolomiti, at the HotelChalet del Sogno, ecofriendly and sustainable,
- IdaOssi, from Il TucanoViaggi Ricerca for Tunisia: Il mondo berbero di Tataouine
- Matteo Del Giudice from Junior Panda Avventure, adventure camping for young on Trasimeno, zero impact and accessibile,
- MaurizioLevi, for Giordania sui sentieri dei Beduini daDana a Petra,
- MariaVittoriaCicconi receives 2 awards for: ilGran Tour del Centro America con San Salvador, Honduras e Nicaragua; and Go Australia per Sulle Orme di Tracks, inspired from a movie,
- Giulio Pico from KiaOraViaggi, for Alla scoperta della Nuova Caledonia,
- Alberto Bassi, from AssociazioneVilleVenete,for Villevenetour.i
- Stanislao deMarsanich, Claudia Baldin e Nicola Rossi for Il Parco Letterario Francesco Petrarca e I Colli Euganei
