WTM Latin America will be a virtual show this year
WTM Latin America will postpone a face-to-face gathering until next year but will host a virtual event later this year on 10, – 12 August 2021.
This change has been forced on organizers by the pandemic situation in Brazil and globally.
Tapping the expertise of other virtual events held in the last year by Reed Exhibitions, WTM Latin America Virtual will offer comprehensive functionality to ensure exhibitors, travel agents, buyers and visitors can virtually network and connect efficiently
WTM Latin America’s Marketing Manager, Thais Del Ben, said: "As a company with a global reach, Reed Exhibitions has enabled us to build solutions and results that delivers relationships and generates contacts."
The platform will allow virtual meetings to be scheduled, based on the interest profiles that each participant completes when registering.
Each meeting will last 30 minutes and will accommodate up to six participants per room.
To support those interested in a successful participation, over the coming months WTM Latin America Virtual will launch an educational series with step-by-step advice on how to become accredited to participate in the virtual event, and how to get the best out of the platform.
The content will be available in three languages; English, Portuguese and Spanish.
The virtual show will also feature qualified conferences.
Discussions will focus on topics of major relevance to tourism, such as: Post-Covid Trends, Women in Tourism, Responsible Tourism, and Technology.
Access to the content will be free of charge.
"We’re preparing an event that has the necessary tools for doing business, reconnecting and for networking. Our focus is on promoting meetings, optimizing opportunities and consolidating negotiations," said says Simon Mayle, Event Director of WTM Latin America.
"We learned a lot from the WTM portfolio, and we’ve taken into consideration the opinions of visitors and exhibitors at other events to make the Latin America edition the best possible."
Last year, the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) and WTM London were entirely virtual events.
ATM attracted nearly 12,000 tourism professionals from 140 countries to its platform.
It facilitated 11,301 scheduled meetings. WTM London resulted in almost 20,000 meetings.
