WTTC event to get global coverage
The BBC has signed up to be broadcast partner for a major travel and tourism conference for the second year running.
The Global Travel and Tourism Summit, organised by the World Travel and Tourism Council is a key industry event according to BBC World director of airtime sales, Jonathon Howlett. He added that the event is important to BBC World because travel and tourism play such a vital role in the international economy.
The summit will be the fifth organised by WTTC and this year it is being held in New Delhi and will be hosted by the Government of India.
Taking place on April 8-10 the Summit will be attended by over 100 leading industry figures including representatives from TUI, Accor, Marriott International, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Accenture, PATA, PhoCusWright, Gulf Air and Abercrombie and Kent. It will also be attended by tourism ministers and officials from around the world.
The two-day programme of seminars will be covered by TravelMole and in the global media including BBC World, Newsweek, NBC and the Wall Street Journal.
The theme of the event is “Realising Potential” and the aim is to focus on countries and regions with untapped potential for tourism. For more details go to www.globaltraveltourism.com.
