WYSE Green Initiative award announced
In recent years accommodation providers and travelers alike are becoming more concerned with the impact of traveling on both the physical and social environment and making a conscious effort to reduce this impact by making more eco-friendly choices.
Through the Green Initiative Award, STAY WYSE would like to recognize the organization they feel is doing the most to reduce their environmental impact and make “ green travel” an important part of their operational activities and encourage others to follow suit.
The award will be given out at the Industry Awards Luncheon on Friday September 23, 2011 at the World Youth and Student Travel Conference (WYSTC) in Barcelona.STAY WYSE ( http://www.staywyse.org/portal/page/portal/MenuSecSiteSTAYWYSE/ ), the WYSE Travel Confederation’s sector association representing the youth travel accommodation industry, has just launched its first Green Initiative Award to access the green business operations of the global Youth Travel Accommodation Sector.
The award will recognize the youth accommodation provider that is making the greatest efforts to ensure that its operating practices promote environmentally-friendly and sustainable travel around the world.
To enter, participants are required to complete a short survey detailing their current green initiatives. The deadline to complete the survey is August 22, 2011. The winners will be chosen by the STAY WYSE board of directors and the award will be presented at the Industry Award Luncheon on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the annual World Youth and Student Travel Conference ( http://www.wystc.org/ ).
