YOTEL aims to shake up DC hotel market
YOTEL is checking in to Washington DC thanks to the acquisition of the Liaison Washington Capitol Hill hotel.
Partners Metrovest Equities and BLDG Management are acquiring the hotel which will then be converted to YOTEL over the next year.
The Liaison Washington is the closest hotel to the U.S. Capitol Building, offering walking access to attractions including the National Mall, and Walter E. Convention Center, and only three blocks away from Union Station.
"We are confident that YOTEL is the ideal partner for the repositioning of the Liaison Washington Capitol Hill and are committed to a long-term investment in the nation’s capital," said Brandon Tarpey, managing director at Metrovest Equities.
The hotel will receive YOTEL’s signature design features, including micro room smart cabins and multifunctional public spaces.
The company believes it will shake up the staid hotel scene in DC.
"The hotel offering in Washington is fairly traditional and YOTEL will introduce an entirely fresh ‘way to stay’ with our cleverly designed cabins and self-contained PADs ideal for extended stays," said Hubert Viriot, CEO of YOTEL.
The Liaison Washington Capitol Hill hotel already has co-working and private meetings spaces, and the largest outdoor rooftop pool deck in the city.
The hotel’s well-known restaurant Art and Soul will continue operating after the YOTEL rebrand.
