Zoom expands from Glasgow
Canadian low fares carrier Zoom Airlines is to expand its schedule from Scotland for next summer.
An additional Glasgow-Toronto service will increase the number of direct flights on the route to three a week.
Zoom will operate eight flights a week between Glasgow and five Canadian destinations in 2006.
Destinations include Toronto, Halifax, Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa. Prices start at £69 one-way plus tax to east coast destinations and £119 one-way plus tax to west coast cities.
The carrier’s UK director Debbie Marshall said: “Zoom Airlines continues to find the Scottish Canadian market to be growing, productive and profitable and we are delighted to be adding a third direct flight from Scotland to Toronto next summer.
“When we first started operating in 2004, we offered flights from two UK airports to six Canadian cities and now we offer flights from five UK hubs to eight Canadian destinations. This is testament to the popularity of our flights and we continue to offer a high quality, low cost scheduled service across the Atlantic.”
The full summer 2006 schedule from May features services from Glasgow, Gatwick, Manchester, Cardiff and Belfast to Vancouver, Toronto, Halifax, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Montreal.
