A new Las Vegas hotel is looking to attract a very different type of high roller. The current Artisan Hotel is being rebranded to become a pot-friendly hotel. The property becomes The Lexi Hotel. Some of the 64 rooms will be pot-friendly and the hotel also plans to house a pot lounge. "One of our goals is to de-stigmatize the use of cannabis in the proper areas,” said Alex Rizk, CEO of owner Elevation Hotels. The hotel still has to be assessed by the Nevada Canabis Compliance Board. The Lexi will also feature a members only lounge, chapel and event space. There will be a café, a Cajun-inspired steakhouse, a pool and live music programing.

The last four months have record volumes at the airport volumes, with most international flights tourism returning, which is highly welcomed by a community where 30-35% of all employment is tied to tourism. The rebranding as 'The Greatest Arena on Earth', goes along for a city with 150,000 hotel rooms, where a new Madison Square Garden Arena is opening; a new 700-room Fountainblue Hotel adjacent to Resort World; F1 races slated for November 2023 as a night race; NFL Super Bowl in 2024. From a sustainability standpoint, most major hotels have switched to solar power, waste are are sorted and recycled, and water conservation initiatives have been going on for years.

 

2023 FORMULA 1 RACE CALENDAR REVEALED

    Formula 1 has announced the calendar for the 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship, which has been approved by the World Motor Sport Council. LAS VEGAS RACE DATES NOV 16 - 18, 2023 Kicking off in Bahrain on March 5 and concluding in Abu Dhabi on November 26, the season will feature a record-breaking 24 races, with China and Qatar set to return, and Las Vegas arriving as the penultimate round for a Saturday night race. Palms Casino Resort officially opens for business on April 28, 2022 This new chapter in Palms history will be celebrated the night before with a fireworks extravaganza on opening night. Gov. Steve Sisolak announced an immediate end to Nevada's mask mandate. Masks are no longer required in public places, including casinos, later confirmed by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. "If a licensee is subject to a local jurisdiction's requirement relating to masks, the board expects full compliance from the licensee," the board said, referring to certain localized regulations. Sisolak cited a 'rapid decline' in Covid cases. Nevada was one of a half-dozen states still imposing a mandate.   Read full story
