In a recent interview, Josephine Connolly, Minister of the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourist Board, and Aviation Specialist Alvin Hegner shed light on the remarkable resilience of the islands’ tourism sector during the COVID-19 pandemic. Emphasizing the pivotal role of collaboration between the private sector and the government, Hegner discussed the successful implementation of destination management strategies. The creation of “Destination Management Experience TCI” signifies a commitment to enhancing the overall tourist experience by involving stakeholders from various islands. Minister Connolly highlighted the proactive measures taken during the pandemic, positioning Turks and Caicos as a leader in safely reopening to the world with an impressive 85% vaccination rate.
