Thailand targeting 20 million visitors next year
The Tourism Authority of Thailand remains confident the country can welcome up to 20 million visitors next year. That would represent about 50% of pre-pandemic numbers.
TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn says this is dependent on the return of Chinese travellers. Yuthasak says Thailand could get about seven million tourists this year, and has been attracting more than 10,000 based on April arrivals data. TAT says the first few days of May have seen it grow to around 15,000 a day.
