Saudi Arabia rolls out free stopover visa

Saudi Arabia unveiled a first of its kind stopover visa to boost Saudi tourism.

The free visa was created in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and airlines Saudia and flynas.

The free Stopover Visa is open to a wider number of countries than the tourism eVisa.

It is the Saudis latest move to make the destination more accessible.

Airline capacity into Saudi Arabia is expected to grow by over 65% compared to 2022.

The visa will allow passengers to stay in the country for up to 96 hours.

Travelers can also use it for the Umrah pilgrimage.

Stopover Visa holders are eligible for a free one-night hotel stay when booking through Saudia.

The visa application will be available through the airlines booking platforms.

Fahd Hamidaddin, Saudi Tourism CEO said: “This is a landmark example of integrated public and private sector cooperation.’
