JetBlue targets big Orlando expansion
JetBlue announced more Caribbean flights from Orlando.
The airline will fly from Orlando to Punta Cana and Santiago, Dominican Republic from November 2023.
Tickets are now on sale.
JetBlue will become the only airline to serve Santiago from MCO.
“We are pleased to share our plans to deliver more growth and more jobs in Central Florida, enabled by Florida’s booming economy,” CEO Robin Hayes.
Pending the planned acquisition of Spirit Airlines, JetBlue expects to reach 200 flights a day in Orlando by 2027.
Orlando became a JetBlue focus city 15 years ago.
JetBlue says the Spirit deal will unlock long-term growth opportunities from central Florida.
JetBlue estimates it will be able to offer new service to 20 markets not currently served by either JetBlue or Spirit.
