100 Co-operative Travel staff are redeployed to TC offices

Monday, 01 Dec, 2011 0

Staff at the Manchester office of The Co-operative Travel were today updated on their futures.

Just under 180 staff were told their jobs were under review in October as part of the merger of Thomas Cook.

Of these, 100 have now been offered jobs at nearby Thomas Cook offices in Altrincham (9 miles away) and Accrington (30 miles away).

Another 76 are yet to be told if they will be redeployed or if they will be made redundant.

A Thomas Cook spokesman said consultation will continue for these 76 employees while the rest will be supported through the next steps of the process.

The Manchester office will close for refurbishment in February and will no longer be used for travel operations.
