£1,000 a day to hire an armoured Range Rover
Hertz claims to be the first UK car rental company to respond to increased customer demand by offering full armoured protection when on the move.
The latest addition to the car rental company’s fleet of hire cars is the £185,000 armoured Range Rover.
Initially available from an outlet in Marble Arch, London, the vehicle costs from £1,000 a day, for a three-day minimum hire period, with delivery available to most locations in the UK.
Hertz says the ultra-secure and reinforced vehicle incorporates features such as under-body and floor protection, multi-laminate armoured glass, an anti-tamper exhaust, a fuel-supply override switch, in-vehicle oxygen supply, an intercom system, run-flat tyres and a self-sealing fuel tank.
General manager Neil Cunningham said: “Land Rover has been armouring Range Rovers since 1985, and the vehicle’s luxurious attributes, unrivalled off-road capabilities and class leading on-road handling characteristics, make it one of the most sophisticated civilian protected vehicles in the world.
“The armoured vehicles market is one of the fastest growing automotive sectors in the world, so there is clearly demand for such a service.”
