2010 Winter Olympics
Is it true that holding Olympic Games generate Tourism? Absolutely. Vancouver/Whistler in British Columbia, Canada is swiftly moving towards the 2010 Winter Olympics. The Tourism Industry benefits greatly with years of marketing focussed on the destination. Sure the games cost. In terms of Real Estate, Jobs, et al prices go up with speculation of interest in the area but Tourism truely obtains value for years prior and years following. The eyes of the world focus. Some 3.2 Billion people will view and become familiar with British Columbia. Where else can Tourism stakeholders receive such attention? An opportunity to cheer about for an Industry always short on marketing dollars.
