40 injured after dance floor collapses in Tenerife night club
Tourists were among 40 people injured in Tenerife when the dance floor of a night club collapsed in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Clubbers at the Butterfly Disco Pub in the popular party resort of Playa de las Americas fell through the floor to the basement 10ft below when around four square metres of the floor gave way.
Nationals from the UK, Spain, France, Belgium and Romania were also injured, many with broken bones and bruises.
According to local reports, two of those injured are in a serious condition but none of the injuries were life-threatening.
An investigation has been launched.
