50 airlines offer web fares via Amadeus
Fifty airlines in Europe, Middle East and Africa are to offer web fares through Amadeus.
The carriers, including Air France, CSA Czech Airlines, dba, Iberia, Lufthansa and Norwegian Air Shuttle, are to provide low fares, full schedules, last seat availability and associated inventory for distribution through all channels under the Amadeus Full Content Option.
Amadeus claims the new arrangement “gives travel agents the peace of mind of knowing that they have access to the web-fares of the largest airlines in their market”.
Agents can also book 25 low-cost carriers, including Air Tran and Independence Air in the US, Westjet in Canada and Air Berlin in Germany.
Amadeus executive vice-president commercial David Jones said: “Delivering the right content to our travel agency partners in 217 markets around the world is absolutely fundamental to our business.
“We will continue to invest to ensure that Amadeus has the widest range of relevant travel content on offer – whether that is web fares, unique hotels, or the world’s widest range of cruise lines.”
Rounding up the first quarter of the year, Amadeus said that Thomson Cruises and Clipper Cruises have been added to the system and the GDS struck a global distribution agreement with Holiday Autos.
