Saturday, 25 Oct, 2007 0

Singapore Airlines operated its first commercial A380 flight today (October 25) and starts fully scheduled flights this Sunday.

The superjumbo landed in Sydney after a seven-hour journey from Singapore.

It is expected to operate on Singapore to London routes from February.

Singapore Airlines said the aircraft will set “new standards for luxury and comfort”.

The three-class A380 has a seating capacity of 471 and features a brand new cabin class – the Singapore Airlines Suites, which the airlins claims is “a class beyond first”.

The A380 will start flying between Singapore and Sydney on one of the three daily flights in each direction from this Sunday.

Singapore has made 19 firm orders for the A380, and has an option for six more.
