ABTA is involved in a scheme to be launched today to fight fraud in travel.
PROFiT, Prevention of Fraud in Travel, is a joint initiative between the Metropolitan Police, ABTA and other leading travel organisations.
ABTA head of financial services Mike Monk has worked hard to raise awareness of the dangers, suggest protective procedures and collect evidence to help bring culprits to justice.
The assoication’s chief executive Mark Tanzer said: “Unfortunately our industry can be very attractive to fraudsters whether they’re aiming at your business or customers.
“PROFiT is the latest stage in this process and I would strongly recommend that you follow the advice on their website www.profit.uk.com.
