ABTA chief executive to retire
ABTA chief executive Ian Reynolds is to retire from his post in September.
His decision comes as ABTA enters the early stages of talks with the Federation of Tour Operators about a possible merger between the two trade bodies.
Mr Reynolds will be involved in the discussions with the FTO before handing over to a successor.
Mr Reynolds, who has headed the organisation for 10 years, had been planning his retirement for some time, according to a spokeswoman.
He announced his retirement plans at a meeting of the ABTA board of directors this week.
No decison has yet been made on a new chief executive.
