ABTA confirms Orlando for 2004

ABTA has confirmed Orlando for the location of its 2004 Convention.

The convention was last held in Florida in 1975. ABTA president, John Harding said he thought the destination would be “an extremely popular choice with delegates”. Following industry speculation earlier this year, ABTA refused to confirm whether Orlando was the favourite for its 51st convention.

The convention will be held on 25-28 November. ABTA is in the process of negotiating charter and schedule flights from various UK airports.

Orlando Tourism Bureau’s UK head, Oonagh McCullagh said the convention would be a good chance to showcase the destination to the UK travel trade.

This year’s convention in Palma, Mallorca has reached a total of 1,800 delegates. ABTA says flight options are now limited, although there is availability on the ABTA charter flight leaving London Luton on 30 October and returning on 3 November.
