ABTA creates new senior role
ABTA has appointed John de Vial in the newly-created role of head of financial protection.
He will leave his current positions as ABTA’s acting head of finance and Shearings Group’s director of external affairs.
He also serves as an ABTA Board member and will step down at the ABTA AGM in May, takeing up his new role on a full-time basis on 19 May.
ABTA said the new role reflects a sharper focus on financial protection as an issue of great significance for ABTA members.
ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer said: “John has a unique and invaluable combination of 30 years of ABTA and industry knowledge, Member and ABTA Board experience.
“His extensive experience in financial protection and claims management procedures from previous roles will be of enormous value for ABTA with our ongoing work around financial protection. John’s experience and skills will continue to be a huge asset to ABTA.”
