ABTA to hold fraud seminar

Monday, 27 Jul, 2009 0

ABTA is holding a seminar to raise awareness of fraud in travel.

The London seminar on September 9 is being split into two main areas, concentrating on card fraud in the morning and corporate fraud in the afternoon.

There is an option to attend the full day or choose either the morning or afternoon session.

Experts from UK Payments Association, Mastercard Worldwide, ASB Law, 192.com, City of London Police and Clyde & Co will:

– tackle just how the fraudsters commit fraud
– provide practical examples of how to spot the early signs of fraud
– explain the impact it can have on a business
– highlight legal responsibilities
– examine the preventative measures agents can take

ABTA head of financial services Mike Monk said: “This is an important event for members to attend to find out the scale of fraud in the travel industry and what members can do to protect their business.”
