ABTA to meet with OFT over airline pricing
ABTA is meeting with Office of Fair Trading officials this week to discuss what action they will take if airlines continue to show prices without taxes and charges.
Chief executive Mark Tanzer said the association will meet with officials on Friday to discuss the issue.
From this weekend Ryanair is shutting down its website for three days to upgrade its reservations system and to change the way it lists prices.
The airline has already missed the OFT’s January 31 deadline to comply with the ruling, and had then been given until February 15 to come in line.
It blamed technical difficulties, but has now told the OFT it will switch to the new ‘inclusive’ pricing on February 22.
