Advantage welcomes ‘new era’ as turnover soars
Advantage Travel Centres grew its turnover by £225 million to £2.3 billion over the past year thanks to a record increase in the number of outlets.
A membership drive saw the number of shops in the consortium increase by 22% with no members leaving.
In an update on its trading, managing director John McEwan said the past 12 months “had probably been the most exciting year in its history.”
He said the formation of super-consortium Triton heralded a new era in the independent sector.
“The industry is going through unprecedented change and it is heartening to see the members and staff of Advantage embracing change and capitalising on it,” said McEwan.
“I expect the next 12 months to be equally challenging but I know Advantage is ready for it and that through Triton, our members will see a new era in travel retailing.”
