Aer Lingus shifts terminal operations at Chicago
Flag carrier Aer Lingus has shifted its operations at Chicago O’Hare Airport from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3.
This provides a more efficient travel and customer experience, the airline says.
The relocation will provide Aer Lingus customers with a more seamless travel experience and easier onward connections in North America on the American Airlines network.
AA is also located at T3.
There are easy transfers at terminals 1,2 and 3, with no need for further security screening.
Customers travelling to Ireland will be greeted by six dedicated Aer Lingus check-in desks located in the departure terminal.
Business Class customers, AerClub Concierge and Platinum customers will have access to the AA Flagship and Admiral lounges.
These are conveniently located for the boarding gates.
The move will allow for better cooperation between Aer Lingus and American Airlines, which will offer connections from O’Hare to 117 domestic destinations during the peak summer travel season.
Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, said: ”Aer Lingus has a long and proud history flying to Chicago. It is one of our top three transatlantic routes.”
“Moving our operations to Terminal 3 in O’Hare International Airport is an exciting milestone and brings us closer with our airline partner American Airlines.”
Departures from Ireland offer pre-clearance for U.S. Customs and Border Protection so avoiding the need to be screened upon arrival.
Aer Lingus joined the Atlantic Joint Business in 2020.
The JV comprises American Airline, British Airways, Iberia, and Finnair.
Aer Lingus operates direct flights from Dublin to O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Chicago, nine times a week, and will increase to 14 times weekly in March.
