Agent Blog: APT goes cruising in Europe
Dan Shearin is International Travel Consultant / Certified Cruise Specialist at Travel by Wyndham.
He travelled with APT from Nuremberg to Budapest on an agent fami in May, sampling part of its Magnificent Europe Amsterdam to Budapest Itinerary
"As I stumble off the plane in Brisbane after a whirlwind 10 days in Europe as part of the APT / Concorde agents famil, my girlfriend asked me "what was the highlight" to which I replied "all of it"
Knowing how much I talk normally, her eyes began to glaze over knowing that this would take longer than the one hour drive home to the Gold Coast.
I mean seriously, where do I start? Nuremburg, Regensburg & Linz poured on more hospitality and culture than the incredible beers flowing from the taps around each of the quaint towns.
To witness the birth place of the Sound of Music in Salzburg and the incredible Austrian countryside before cycling the Danube from Melk to Durnstein was breathtaking.
With the wine, spirits and selected cocktails (loved the Cozmo’s) flowing onboard each night and more food than it was possible to eat, I slept like a baby on the extra comfortable beds each night.
Vienna blew me away as much as the overall APT experience. I don’t think I’ve seen a city with so much diversity in my life.
From the stunning architecture and incredible art, to the 4km stretch of breathtaking parkland right in the middle of the city (available only for foot and bike passengers) and the oversized theme park, Vienna really had it all.
After a great day exploring the city, we were all spoilt with a private classical concert (for APT guests only) by some of Vienna’s best musicians and opera singers, then to top it off, the following day / night in Budapest capped off the incredible cruise with a stunning light show with the entire city lining the Danube lit up in all its glory.
So now I do more than recommend APT, I sell it like it has never been sold before."
