Agent incentives at TradeWinds

Commissions of up to 15% are only one incentive being offered at the two TradeWinds Resorts in St. Pete Beach, Fl, says Judy McKay, tour and travel manager.

“If an agent just books ten leisure nights in one year, we bump commissions up to 15%. We want agents to know we appreciate them,” she said.

Ms MaKay is rarely on the property in part because of her extensive travels to meet with agents throughout the US.

Another incentive for agents, she said, is to offer clients gourmet discount cards that provide up to 20% discounts at TradeWinds two properties, the Island Grand and the Sandpiper.

The smaller Sandpiper (159 rooms) is a three diamond property, while the larger Island Grand (585 rooms) has a four diamond rating.

The properties also offer a “Travel Agent Appreciation” season from 7 September to 26 December when rooms are as low as $89 for agents. Agents can upgrade to suites for $129.

Bookings have been strong at TradeWinds. “We think that’s in part because of our travel agent business,” said Ms McKay.
