Agent sentenced for taking $900,000
A Pennsylvania-based travel agent who took $900,000 from clients but didn’t book their trips will start serving a four-year prison sentence 6 January.
Ronni Spoll owned The Travel Agency.
Ms Spoll said her mismanagement of the company came about because she was distracted and ”not paying attention.”
She attributed that in large part because of her time caring for her sick husband, Dr. Edward A. Spoll, and their seriously ill daughter, Heather, both of whom are deceased.
Police in Palmer, Pa., said Spoll was in business for 20 years or more. Police also said the majority of Spoll’s illegal acts occurred in 2003.
Ms Spoll said she was sorry for what she had done to her clients.
