Agoda reveals top Lunar New Year destinations
Online travel platform Agoda unveiled the top destinations in Asia for Lunar New Year holidays.
Based on accommodation search data, Tokyo remains the most popular followed by Bangkok and Taipei.
The data compares searches from December 2025, with the same period in 2024 for check-ins during the Lunar New Year.
Another Japanese city, Osaka ranked fourth with Seoul in the fifth spot.
Kuala Lumpur, Sapporo, Singapore and Hong Kong were also popular.
This year marks the Year of the Horse.
Andrew Smith, SVP, Supply at Agoda, said, “It’s exciting to see travellers embracing both traditional favourites and new experiences during one of Asia’s top travel moments.”
Agoda’s offers more than six million holiday properties, 130,000 flight routes, and over 300,000 activities.
From 14 to 28 February, Agoda’s Mega Sale offers up to 60% off hotel bookings, with special flash sales of up to 70% on 17 February and exclusive deals on flights and activities.
